Firearm Transfer Terms and Conditions

Transfer Fees
The fee for our FFL transfer service (long gun, handgun, or receiver) is $30.00.
If you have more than one firearm you would like to have transferred, the fee is $30.00 for the first firearm plus $15.00 per each additional firearm transferred in the same transaction up to 5 on one NICS form. We must collect Ohio sales tax on all transfer fees.
NFA items (suppressors, short barrel rifle or short barrel shotgun) is $75. This covers fingerprints, picture and filing of applicable Form 4. Users must have a valid E-forms ID and PIN before NFA paperwork is started.
Collecting Your Firearm
• To pick up a firearm, you must present a valid, government-issued photo ID including your name, date of birth, current residence address, and signature.
• If your current residence address does not match the one on your submitted ID, you will need to also submit a government-issued identification document with your current residence address. Examples of documents that may be accepted to supplement information on a driver’s license or other identification document include a vehicle registration, a recreation identification card, a fishing or hunting license, a voter identification card, or a tax bill. However, the document in question must be valid and must have been issued by a government agency.
• Copies of your documents will be kept for our records.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the seller requires a signature for delivery from their shipping carrier.
⚠ Schreiner Ace Hardware assumes NO responsibility, financially or legally, for firearms that are stolen because the shipper did not require a signature upon receipt. We are required by law to log in where a firearm originated from, and we cannot do this without the proper FFL or ID. Schreiner Ace Hardware reserves the right to hold the transfer of the firearm until we have the proper paperwork. It is your responsibility to make sure the seller includes a copy of their FFL (if applicable) or ID with firearm shipments.

General FFL Policies
1. Legal Compliance
We adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations governing the sale, transfer, and possession of firearms and ammunition. This includes compliance with:
- The Gun Control Act (GCA)
- National Firearms Act (NFA)
- Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) regulations
- State-specific laws
All transactions are subject to background checks as required by law.
2. Age Requirements
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a rifle or shotgun, and at least 21 years old to purchase a handgun. Non-expired valid government-issued photo identification is required for all firearms transactions.
3. Background Checks
All buyers must undergo a mandatory background check conducted through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) before purchasing any firearm. We will not proceed with any sale until the background check is completed and approved. If your background check is wait-listed, we will contact you upon issuance of approval or denial by the FBI. In the event that your background check is denied by the FBI, we are unable to transfer the firearm to you and will return the firearm to the place of origin at your expense plus a $30 transaction fee.
4. Firearm Transfers
We offer both in office and online sales. If you purchase a firearm online, it must be shipped to a licensed Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder for transfer. Transfers to and from FFLs are handled in accordance with federal and state law.
5. Order Storage
We will store your firearm upon delivery for 7 calendar days, free of charge. After 7 calendar days, a storage fee of $10/week per item will be added to your account. Transfer of the firearm will not be started until the invoice is paid in full. After a time frame of 2 months from the date of delivery, the firearm will be considered abandoned and will either be returned to the place of origin at your expense or sold.
6. Privacy and Data Protection
We respect your privacy and handle all personal information with the highest level of confidentiality. Your personal data is used solely for the purpose of processing transactions and fulfilling legal requirements.
7. Prohibited Sales
We do not sell firearms or ammunition to individuals who are prohibited by law from possessing them. This includes individuals with felony convictions, restraining orders, or who are otherwise prohibited by federal or state law from owning firearms.
8. Liability Disclaimer
We are not responsible for any injuries or damages resulting from the improper handling, storage, or use of firearms and ammunition purchased from our store. Customers are advised to seek professional instruction and to comply with all safety protocols.
